SUPERVISING SOUND EDITORS & SOUND DESIGNERS
BIOGRAPHY

Hailing from Texas, Jeff Halbert’s journey in sound began at the age of 12 when he received his first guitar. This quickly evolved into songwriting and recording demos on a four-track recorder, igniting a lifelong passion for recorded sound. After completing an internship at a music recording studio, he was offered a staff position, marking the launch of his career as an audio professional.
Later Jeff and his wife Kirsten would move to Los Angeles which proved to be a pivotal moment in his career, allowing him to collaborate with a diverse array of notable artists and contribute to a Grammy-nominated album. It was during this time that a friend’s introduction to sound design revealed his true calling, guiding him toward a path in audio post-production.
As a sound designer, Jeff has worked on notable projects including the “Pickle Rick” episode of Rick and Morty, which was nominated for an MPSE Golden Reel Award, and Star Trek: Lower Decks, recognized with a Primetime Emmy nomination for outstanding sound editing. Since joining Sound Rebels in 2021, he has been a part of projects such as Battle of the Super Sons, which received an Emmy nomination for sound mixing and editing. Jeff values collaboration and the art of storytelling.
