Jacob Salerno is a Re-Recording Mixer at Sound Rebels, who got this job through nepotism. Being qualified was helpful, as Jake has been working in this industry since he was 12 years old. Many got their starts as child actors; Jake was a child key grip on his older brother’s film sets. He also worked as a video editor for many years when manual labor was not an option. While studying at the University of Southern California, he found his love for post audio and made it his mission to impress his parents by landing a job right out of school. He spent 2 years TA’ing various courses in sound while also working on an incalculable number of short films to learn the form inside and out. This led him to Sound Rebels where his expertise would come in handy and help him land the job. Again, all of this was second to the nepotism he faced by way of his future boss (D.J. also went to USC: fight on), which got him hired.
